What is SOQL Query, SOSL Query and Type of SOQL Query in Salesforce

What is SOQL?:-

• Salesforce Object Query Language.
• Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) to search your organization’s Salesforce data for specific information.
• SOQL statement always starts with SELECT Statement.
• SOQL Return List
• SOQL does not support advance feature of SQL. Like wild characters(*) and Joins.
• Maximum limit of SOQL is 20,000 Characters.
• If SOQL contains more formula fields then will result Quey_To_Complicated Error.
• In lightning if a page layout contains more then 250 fields then it will result Query_To_Complecated error becouse Lightning uses auto generated query to retrieve the fields.

What to use SOSL?

• Retrieve data from a single object or from multiple objects that are related to on another.
• Count the number of records that meet specified criteria.
• Sort result as part of the query.
• Retrieve data from number, date, Or checkbox fields.

Type of SOQL Query:-

There are two type of SOQL Query in Salesforce:-

1. Child to Parent
2. Parent to Child (Inner Query)

SOQL	SOSL
Using SOQL we can Search only on one object at a time.	Using SOSL we can search on many objects at a time.
We can query on all fields of any datatype	We can query only on fields whose data type is text,phone and Email.
We can use SOQL in Triggers and classes.	We can use in calsses but not in Triggers.
We can perform DML operation on query results.	We cannot perform DML operation on search result
